Adult Learn to Play Hockey

Get in the Game

Revolution’s Adult Learn to Play hockey program is designed for individuals who are new to hockey, have limited experience, or are returning to the game after time away. This program serves as the entry point into our adult hockey leagues. Each 90-minute session dedicates at least 30 minutes to skating, the most essential skill in hockey. Over the course of the program, participants build fundamental skills including forward and backward strides, stopping, puck control, passing, and shooting. Practices are structured to allow players to develop at their own pace, while team concepts are introduced through small-area games and full-ice scrimmages in a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment.

Program

Program – Our six-week Adult Learn to Play program is designed to equip participants with the skills needed to transition into an adult hockey league. In fact, graduates are guaranteed placement on a team in our developmental league. The program concludes with an official full-ice game, complete with coaches, goalies, referees, and a scorekeeper.

Equipment

Full hockey equipment is required, including skates, shin guards, pants, socks, a hockey jock or jill, gloves, elbow pads, jersey, and helmet. Shoulder pads are recommended but not mandatory. The Hat Trick Hockey Shop offers affordable equipment options, including used gear and rentals (subject to availability).

Coaches

Our Adult Learn to Play coaches have extensive experience working with beginner skaters and new hockey players. Instruction is delivered in a supportive, fun environment where participants can progress at their own pace. Advanced skating skills are not required—players simply need to be able to skate unassisted around the rink without falling.
